Billy Joel

Billy was born on May 9, 1949 in Hicksville, Long Island.  He started playing piano at age four and loved to compose his own mozart on the piano, which would become useful later in life.   When he was older and going to grade school, he was always in some type of gang or group that constantly got in trouble.  Sometimes, they would get into fights, and other times, they would try to get high sniffing glue or steal in stores.  When Billy reached Hicksville High School at age fourteen, he decided to form a band called the Echoes (later changed to the Lost Souls).  Billy really wanted to perform to an audience ever since he saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show.  Also, in high school, he signed up to do boxing at nineteen because of hash bullying.  Billy was really good at boxing and considered going pro until he broke his nose in contest.
